Deaf Reach hosted its 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament with the support of its title sponsor, KFC Pakistan, in February 2023.
The 18-hole tournament, held at DHA Golf & Country Club, reflected the community’s overwhelming support, with 130 golfers participating. It was planned in the Texas Scramble format with teams of 4 players and two flights per hole.
Support from reputable organizations towards better educational facilities for deaf persons in Pakistan was visible, with leading industry names in attendance. Gold Sponsor for the event was IGI Life. Silver sponsors included Jubilee Life Insurance, Habib Metro, Engro Foundation, and HMR Waterfront.
Renowned cricketer, Darren Sammy, also participated in the tournament and teed off in support of deaf education.
The proceeds from the tournament cover the education and skills training of 100 students enrolled under the Pervez Hanif Scholars program which supports 6th graders in their education and skills training across 8 campuses.
The players and their families, along with friends and supporters of Deaf Reach, were hosted at a Luncheon and Award Ceremony. Richard Geary, founder of Deaf Reach, and other distinguished guests presented trophies to the winners.
